"Frankly speaking, the food was average. I just can't understand what all the hype is about. Garlic bharta was okayish. Seriously, I have eaten tastier bharta at other restaurants. Shutki bharta tasted bitter. Garlic chicken was bland...no salt, no taste. There were only two small pieces of garlic, and the chicken was rock hard. Rui fish was okayish. The size was satisfactory, but the taste was weirdnot too bad, but not good either. If you’re going there just because of the hype, don’t. Eat Bangla food at your nearby restaurants instead."

Thank you for sharing this detailed experience. They clearly expected more flavor and balance, and it sounds like several dishes—especially the shutki bharta and garlic chicken—didn’t meet their expectations. Hopefully their feedback helps improve consistency, seasoning, and texture for future diners. Wishing them a better Bangla meal next time 🙂

"I visited Durbin Bangla Restaurant in Mohakhali for the very first time today for dinner, and it was a wonderful experience! The menu is absolutely massive, offering a huge variety of items perfect for a heavy, satisfying meal. For our dinner, we tried a delicious spread of rice, paratha, halwa, beef and chicken seekh kebabs, juice, sweets, and finished it off with a warm cup of tea. While everything was great, I absolutely loved their food the most, as every single item was packed with authentic flavor. The restaurant features a lovely table service option, and the friendly, attentive attitude of the waiters made us feel incredibly welcome throughout the night. I was also highly impressed by the beautiful ambient lighting, which created a cozy and inviting atmosphere to relax in. For the convenience of guests, they have well-maintained facilities, including a clean washroom and a completely separate hand-washing corner. It is a fantastic, comfortable spot in Dhaka to enjoy a hearty meal with family or friends."

"Durbin Bangla has gained popularity within a very short time of it's launch ! Ther restaurant actually serves good dishes, some of which are extraordinarily good. The staff are nice and even within crazy crowd, they manage to handle everything as much as possible. About the atmosphere, it's almost always extremely crowded. For breakfast, most of their items are good. However, Jholer Raja Aalu is a must try! If you're planning for lunch, I'd suggest all the "Bhorta" anyway! After any meal, there is a dessert Gorom Roshogolla, which is quite refreshing !"

"As you know, I enjoy a good Indian restaurant and dishoom was it. Great place in the heart of London if you're looking for a good Indian restaurant. We usually and did order the garlic naan. We also ordered a chicken tikka masala and some other curries. The chicken tikka had a bit of a kick. The garlic naan was great. Had lot of garlic flavors. Nicely cooked. Service was great. The waiter checked on us a few times. Made some food recommendations and the wait time for food was not that long. The place itself was as big and well decorated as. It had a modern vibe, but still hones in on some Indian decorations."

"Oh. My. Gosh! I was recommended this restaurant and I cannot thank them enough. After walking around the rainy streets of London for 11 hours I wanted some amazing comfort food and this is exactly what we got. Much like other places in London walking in you have no idea how far this place actually stretches. The restaurant is HUGE. We were seated right away on a Friday night and worried it would take a while to get food. It took us longer to decide what to order than to receive our food. The service was quick and every single dish was phenomenal. We decided to start with the samosas served with the most delicious sauce. You only get 3 so 1-1/2 each it was, yum! For entree we decided to split the super popular chicken ruby, a side of rice and the garlic naan. There was definitely some spice to the chicken but amazingly delicious. Out of our 10 days travels through Paris and London this was our absolute favorite meal. We didn't have a refrigerator in our hotel but opted to take our leftovers anyway because it was too good to leave behind."

So many different voices from so many different places telling so many different stories joined together to become Bombay. It is a city of massive and juxtaposed extremes hemmed in tight by the ocean on three sides. And yet, past the crowds and between the layers of accumulated difference, there is magic. Hidden gems, lovely histories, the most delicious comfort food and countless stories to be told.

Being seated quickly on a busy Friday and receiving such fast service clearly impressed them. Their love for the samosas, chicken ruby, garlic naan, and leftovers says it all. Thank you 🙏
